Abstract

The next generation of mobile network technology is known as the Advanced Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) or better known as Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-Advanced). With this, a microwave filter is required in obtaining the desired frequency range whether for transmission purposes or receives purposes. There are many ways in designing a microwave filter but in this paper, combline technique is presented. The design and the simulation of microwave combline filter for LTE-Advanced is also presented in this paper. This paper also highlights the fundamental of microwave filter as a guideline in designing a microwave combline filter. LTE-Advanced is still a newly introduced mobile network technology. With this, this paper will discuss and present on method to design a microwave combline filter for LTE-Advanced.
