Abstract
Localization is one of the important area of research that has drawn a lot of interest in the field of communication engineering. However, to locate a physical position or a node in a network can be quite a tough job to execute. Though there are countless number of application that can be used for this localization purpose, the quest for an affordable yet reliable local positioning system especially to cater for indoor environment remains a problem to most people since they are not yet being implemented in a small scale design environment or by using low power, inexpensive set of small devices. Therefore, this project aims to design a novel positioning system that utilizes the implementation of essentially RSSI technique with the addition of inexpensive equipment such as Xbee and Arduino board as a platform to achieve localization through several techniques as discussed in the objective section.
