Abstract

This report discusses the chosen project, which is titled Bluetooth® Enabled Mobile
Phone as a Universal Remote Control for In-House Electrical Appliances with the
supervision of Dr Mohd Yunus b Nayan. The objective of the project is to demonstrate the
use of a mobile phone to control several electrical appliances at home and thus eliminating the
need of multiple remote controls to operate domestic appliances.
This FYP will include the design of a model of a remotely controlled home electrical
system, user interface and a Bluetooth® server. The three components will be exhaustively
tested throughout the project completion. This report will mainly reflect project background,
literature research, objectives and stages of project work done in order to complete the
project.
