Abstract

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been around since a few decades. The concept of using Radio Frequency to identify objects dates back to World War II when the RF was used to distinguish between returning English airplanes
and the German ones [19]. RFID tags are increasingly being used in many diverse applications in industries nowadays. The capabilities of these tags span from very dumb passive tags to smart active tags, with the cost of these tags
correspondingly ranging from a few pennies to many dollars.
