Abstract

This project focuses on the application of Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) for improving power transmission capabilities of power system.
The purpose of the project is to study and define the basic power flow problem of a network and improve the network capabilities using FACTS controller. The project is divided into two stages. The first stage is the identification phase focusing on the study of basic power flow problems using power flow analysis, identifications on the types of FACTS controllers and familiarizing on MATLAB and Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT) software.
