Abstract

This project proposes a prototype called Auto Barrier using RFID System Powered by Solar Energy for Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) to monitor movement of cars entering and leaving this university. It uses a low frequency RFID tagging system coupled with a database and powered by solar energy. At present any car entering UTP is being checked by the security guard whether it has UTP staff or student stickers. If it has the sticker, the car is allowed to enter this university otherwise the driver has to stop and get a temporary pass. This present practice does not check who is entering the university, at what
date and time he/she enters and leaves the university.
