Abstract

In medical field, a surgeon needs to have good surgical skills before operating on patients. Most of the surgeons have the skills but lack in training or experience doing operation especially in laparoscopic surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is much harder surgery compare to normal/open surgery. Box trainer, virtual simulator and augmented reality are tools that can be used by the surgeons to improve one skills in performing operation. Even though the simulation or training is not done on actual human body, still the environment of operation room can be felt during this simulation. All these tools are proven to help improve surgeon’s surgical skills.
