Abstract

Tension Leg Platform (TLP) is a semi-submersible vessel moored to ocean depth by
various demand tendons associated at the sea floor to a template piled in place,
suitable for very deep water. Wave and current are important environment conditions
aspects that are considered in the design of these structures. The occurrences of longcrested
waves which research have been highlighted that it is rarely found in the real
sea state. On the other hand, short-crested wave would be better represented in the
real sea condition. Literature have proven that by considering the short-crested waves
in the design, a cost and time effective design could be achieved for an optimum
offshore structure.
