Abstract

The maintenance in oil and gas industry existed so that the offshore structure can be
used for a longer period of time and most importantly so that steps can be taken before
any unwanted tragedies to happen. One of the maintenance is the repair of the corroded
area of the structure itself as it is in constant contact with water and air. Hence, there
are few options that has been implemented so that the corroded steel are kept in
affective condition. This research is conducted to identify the effectiveness of the
patch repair for corroded tubular member in maintaining the structure. However, there
are limitation in this research which includes the steel tubular member experiencing
corrosion of 50% and 100% thickness with an external force only and happens above
the splash zone.
