Abstract

The removal of mercury from process area is the key to safeguard equipment from Liquid Metal Embrittlement (LME) and amalgam corrosion. This study was conducted at a large scale of aging ethylene plant without Ethane Buffer Storage Tank (EBST) which resulted in fluctuating ethane feedstock upstream of Mercury Removal Unit (MRU).
