The geological resources such granite, limestone and Amang (by products from the tin mining industry) can be found all over Kampar area in Perak. Most of the outcrop that have been studied showed that these geological resources been developed in Kampar area. This study had been done based on few objectives which are i) to study the geology of the Kampar area on a detailed scale, ii) to produce a geological map showing the distribution of the different lithologies and iii) to evaluate potential geological resources at Kampar area. The methodology that been used for this study are thin section for both rock samples, Rock Aggregate test for granite, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) for limestone and Electromagnetic Separation for amang. The rock aggregate test is being used to check the economic use of granite while the XRD test is being used to identify the mineral content in limestone. The electromagnetic separation is being used to identify the heavy minerals content in amang.
