Abstract

Electric Drive (ED) is a motor drive unit designed by Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH (MR) from Germany. It is used to operate Tap Changer in transformer to regulate voltage as well as for operating plunger-core earth-fault neutralizers. In the Electric Drive, there is a module called as BCD module that serve as an indicator as well as safety device for tap changer. In this project paper, BCD module will be discussed and researched on so that a specific testing device can be designed for fault diagnosis.
