Abstract

To be the responsibility of an engineer to ensure the quality and the cost of a
project is relevant and efficient. The engineer must always look up and emphasize the
structure that been build is strong and not collapse. In the mean time, the cost of the
project must be at an optimum cost and all the sources are not wasted. This is where
an idea to do the research on how to get the optimum cost of a project.
The main focus on this study is to recognise the alternatives proposals and to
determine the alternatives that can be analysed using Life Cycle Cost Analysis
(LCCA). This study is focusing on highway project. The tasks involved are collecting
data from the highway contractor, measuring total highway costs including all
equipment, collecting data, compiling data to analyze using rigorous LCCA methods
for selecting and analyzing data using Microsoft Excel materials.
