Abstract

Excessive production of the cement will bring negative impact to the environment. Fly ash which is one of the by product from coal industry can be he green alternative to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases from the production of cement. Fly ash geopolymer is beneficial to the construction industry as it is high resistant to high temperature and acid.Analytical study will be carried out determine the strength of sandwich beam with fly ash geopolymer as concrete core. The strength of geopolymer concrete is affected by temperature of curing, heat curing is generally used to activate the chemical reaction that takes place in geopolymer.Conventional doubly reinforced beam has difficulties in submerged construction, SCS structure with outer steel layers act as waterproof formwork. SCS sandwich structure has high tensile and compressive strength due to its composite action of steel plates and concrete core.
