Abstract
Phase Change Material (PCM) has been widely utilized in many industries. PCM has appeared as one of the materials used in the wearing course to reduce the temperature by absorbing its latent heat. Research is still being done regarding this topic, nevertheless some papers have reviewed the benefits, by incorporating PCM in the pavement mixture and their results varies, depending on the objectives of their experiment. The main objective of this paper is to test and review the performances and characteristics of PCM modified mastic. Generally, the bitumen mastic is a mix of fillers, high- grade bitumen, with fine and coarse aggregates, usually used as a wearing course. Previous papers have shown that organic PCM appears to be the favorite PCM in asphalt concrete studies.
