Abstract

Currently, the Semantic Web researches have changed the world of information systems and data sharing to a new pivotal paradigm. There are many contributions together with interesting developments in different aspects of computing areas (Web technologies and reasoning). These have become a topic of interest for many researchers in academic disciplines. The main aim of this research was to develop an approach for Semantic Web in oil and gas sector consisting architecture and algorithm to facilitate data integration and reduce the problem of interoperability. However, despite the interesting advantages of Semantic Web technologies, there is need for solving the problem of data integration due to everyday increase of data from diverse sources. The ability of exchanging information from different sources of hardware and software tools with least or no reduction of contents is known as interoperability.
