Abstract

Deployment of Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) relay transmission
technique is an imperative amendment in wireless networks to increase capacity and
coverage of the existing base stations. The merger of MIMO and relaying techniques
are becoming integral part of various wireless networks such 3G, 4G, LTE advanced
and massive MIMO. The performance of relay assisted MIMO channels depends on
the relay receive and transmit processing design. The relay processing is classified as
linear and non-linear processing techniques. The non-linear techniques are optimal
but for practical implementation they are difficult as they are high complex in nature.
Therefore, preference is given to linear techniques resulting in simple, efficient and
high performance relaying transmission methods.
