Abstract

Technology nowadays progressing constantly in every field such as education, telecommunication, and agriculture. For instance, in the agriculture field, there are a lot of advancements such as sensors technology in which information are made available through Internet of Things (IoT). This technology able to help farmers to enhance their productions. Despite, some farmers are facing a problem where the crops wilt due to infrequent monitoring especially for a sensitive plant such as chili. This study aimed to develop a monitoring system for chili plant to grow in greenhouse equipped with IoT devices. This project will have the greenhouse equipped with sensors, which are humidity and soil sensor, to keep the greenhouse at optimal condition. The result shows that the chili seed able to germinate in the greenhouse at optimal condition. Meanwhile, observation on the number of leaves and height of the plant is recorded and compare with chili in a controlled environment. The monitoring application is built to retrieve and analyse data from humidity and soil sensor. The analysed data is displayed in a form of dashboard which included as a feature in the mobile application.
