Abstract

Underwater glider (UGS) adalah kenderaan dalam air yang bersayap didorong oleh daya apungan yang menukarkan gerakan menegak ke gerakan mendatar. Walaupun prestasi meluncur adalah sebahagiannya dipengaruhi oleh sayap dan arus air, kesannya ke atas prestasi meluncur tidak banyak dikaji. Dalam disertasi ini, hubungan antara bentuk sa yap, arus air dan prestasi peluncur telah diwujudkan. Dua bentuk sayap iaitu segi empat tepa! dan tirus telah dipilih sebagai kajian kes. Ciri-ciri prestasi peluncur seperti kelajuan mendatar, julat, kadar tenggelam, pergerakan lingkaran dan kestabilan dinamik telah dikaji secara mendalam. Model dinamik termasuk daya hidrodinamik, momen, daya apungan, daya gandingan tidak linear dan kesan beban tambahan telah dibina berdasarkan prinsip pertama.
