Abstract

The project is entitled “Study on Flood Accidents at Kampung Padang Serai,
Perak, Malaysia. A Lattice Boltzmann Approach.” is about a detailed study on the
floods accidents which happened at Kampung Padang Serai, Perak, by using Lattice
Boltzmann method. This project is aimed to understand the behaviour of floods
accidents based on the hydraulic and hydrology parameters. LABSWETM model has
been used to simulate the real floods condition at Kampung Padang Serai. Analysis
will be carried out based on the output from the LABSWETM model simulation and
possible causal factors of the floods accidents at Kampung Padang Serai will be
determined. Furthermore, suitable mitigation measures in terms of engineering aspects
such as channelization and will be proposed to reduce the impacts of floods accidents
in Kampung Padang Serai.
