Abstract

This research is designed to develop a microwave transmitter that able to
eliminate third order intermodulation distortion (IM3) for microwave input signals of
1.90 GHz and 1.95 GHz.
Microwave transmitter is a collection of electronic devices or circuits that have
function in transmitting microwave data signal from the source or signal generator to
the atmosphere. Typically, microwave has the frequency range from 0.3 GHz to 3 GHz
in electromagnetic spectrum and signal wavelength from 1 mm to 1 m.
Intermodulation distortion (IM) products are formed when numerous signals are
combined in a nonlinear system. This nonlinearity response can be occurred due to
component malfunction or over-burden of excessive signal strength. As those IM
pulses are undesirable and located very near to the fundamental frequency pulses,
adjacent of channel due to signal crosstalk problem can be occurred. Thus, a
narrowband interdigital bandpass filter is needed to isolate IM pulses especially IM3
which located very close to the fundamental data pulses and exponentially power
increment of IM pulses due to power increment of input signal.
