Abstract

In digital world, all information is in term of 0 and 1. Even the information such as sound, video, graphic or text is in term of 0 and 1. If the information is transmitting through a noisy channel, there is a risk for error to occur. Error correcting code was invented to solve this problem. For this project, the performance evaluation between Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) and Bode-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) in wireless channel is presented. The Addictive White Gaussian Channel (AWGN) is used to represent the wireless channel. A black and white image was used as the data. Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) was used to measure the quality of the reconstructed image. If the PSNR value is between 30 dB and 50 dB, the quality of the output image is considered good. As the PSNR value increases, the quality of output image gets better.
