The presence of Iron and Calcium in condensate water can cause damaged to equipment lead to corrosion and scaling in the pipeline. This would lead to equipment failure for [2]. Iron ion also would harm human being as well as to the environment. In this study, ion exchange treatment was chosen to be applied to treat the conndensate water. Ion exchange is a reversible chemical reaction wherein ion from the solution is exchanged for a similarly charged ion attached to the resins. The removal of Iron and Calcium ion using strong acid resin will be investigated. The exdifferent resin dosage, (50mg, 150mg and 200mg per 100ml solution) and contact time. The result of the removal efficiency and rate of removal is calculated in result section of this report. DR 5000 Spectrophotometer with Forrover reagent is used to measure the concentration of Iron and for Calcium Atomic Adsorption Spectrometer. Later on, resin will be modified using Tetrabutylammonium Iodide and the effectiveness of it would be investigated. Results for modified and unmodified resin is been compared. Results from this project also would be helpful for researcher to further studies on removal of Iron and Calcium using ion exchange treatment.
