Abstract

Multiphase flow of fluids in a pipeline can be viewed by using a process tomography. One of the available approaches for the process tomography is known as Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) Data Acquisition System (DAQ). ECT has the ability like other process tomography such as Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT), Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) and many others to view the spatial distribution of the multiphase (non-conduction) products. On the other hand, ECT is chosen for this project for a number of reasons such as low cost, non-invasive, non-destructive, inert and non-ionizing, no hazardous emission and able to withstand high temperature and pressure. Nevertheless, an effort to obtain a real-time monitoring of the tomography using ECT is still a challenge due to DAQ speed and its corresponding image projection (tomography).
