Abstract

The aim of this work is to study and design system by using heat from hot spring. This system can produce power which is capable to support electricity at a small area. Hot spring is classified under geothermal energy which is natural and continuously produces inside the earth. This hot water has been used since ancient times for bathing
and cooking. In Malaysia, there are some place having the hot spring and most of them are currently use for recreation and tourism. For this project, the author wants to study and understanding this one type of alternative energy and come out with the design a system with the application of Organic Rankine Cycle and solar water heater. Organic Rankine Cycle is used in low temperature source. Their working fluid is a refrigerant whose property is adapted to the conditions in which the heat is performed. The heat energy is thereby converted to electrical energy.
