Abstract

This project is about designing a linear motor/generator. Linear motor/generator or linear machine is a simple idea which it is a modification from a conventional rotary
servomotor. It involves a conventional rotary motor and been unwrap. The rotor becomes a coil or magnet rail. With this design, the load is connected directly to the motor. Direct linear motion is achieved without any rotary to linear transmission devices. The voltage is induced if the movement of the rod back and forth motion causes a disturbance to the field which then an electromagnetic force (EMF) is induced in the coils. This is the principle of the linear generator, producing electricity directly from the linear motion.
