Abstract

Chan (2013) analysed that people spend 85% of their time indoors and based on that percentage, 20% of their time they spend other indoor places than home. He also stated that, indoor navigation help the user to familiarize with the place. They no longer need to refer to floor directory when walk inside unfamiliar indoor venue. Nowadays, people like to travel using Global Positioning System (GPS) to navigate where they want to reach. Today’s smartphones are often equipped with GPS receivers that are used to determine a user’s position. GPS signal can determine object or people with accurate position. Inside building, there are GPS signal to be used for navigating inside covered building. When navigating indoor, GPS satellite cannot detect of locate device. So, different technology need to be implemented inside covered buildings to navigate within the building. In that case, stand alone or independent navigation system is required to use for this project
