Abstract

Two phase flow is a complex phenomenon which is difficult to understand, predict and model. Common single phase characteristics such as velocity profile, turbulence and boundary layer, are thus inappropriate for describing the nature of such flows. The flow structures are classified in flow regimes, whose precise characteristics depend on a number of parameters. The distribution of the fluid phases in space and time differs for the various flow regimes, and is usually not under the control of the designer or operator. The type of flow regime being implemented in this project is an annular flow. The type of sensor which is Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) has been used in order to capture the flow structure of the two phase flow.
