Abstract

Many experiment have been conducted by the experts on investigating the behaviour
of Tsunami waves. There are a lot of factors that can generate tsunami. Most of them
are from the earthquake or the shifting of tectonic plate at seabed. However less of the
cause of tsunami is due to a landslide. The factors that can generate tsunami is the
occurrence of sub-aerial landslide. One of the case study for this project is the Lituya
Bay case which occur in 1958 in Alaska where one of the largest tsunami occur due to
a large scale landslide. Through this project, an experiment will be set up to simulate
the sub-aerial landslide. From the experiment, the behaviour of generated tsunami can
be observed with differentiating different type of landslides. The objective of this
experiments include to determine the impact of different type of landslide towards the
generated tsunami.
