Abstract

High permeable concrete typically has little or no fine aggregate content and has the
suitable amount of cement paste just enough to coat the coarse aggregate while
maintaining the interconnectivity of the voids. Due to the permeability requirement of
the high permeable concrete, it is typically designed with high void content ranging from
15% to 25% compared to 3% to 5% in conventional concrete pavement. There were very
limited research conducted on the design mix of high permeable concrete, and the effect
of using Class F fly ash and Nano silica. Besides, the fresh and hardened properties of
high permeable concrete required more studies and understanding to establish the mix
design for high permeable concrete.
