Abstract

This paper highlights the study of time synchronization methodologies which are the Network Time Protocol (NTP) and Global Positioning System (GPS) as well as suggests the usage of Real-Time Clock on an embedded platform to ensure accurate, precise, and reliable time keeping. The study focuses on implementing NTP and GPS as two-time synchronization methodologies on the Raspberry Pi embedded platform as redundancy. The study is implemented to solve a problem faced by nurses at Hospital Seberang Jaya due to unavailability of a centralized clock for correct timestamp information.
