Abstract

Travel is an important process in human’s life in order to satisfy their needs and desires in daily life at different times and locations. It is able to affect human health in term of physical, social and mental directly or indirectly. Humans’ activity-travel behavior are often influenced by humans’ needs and wants, built environment, personal household characteristics, resources and space and time.
The development of human built environment and improvement of technology have improved human public transport network. Due to that, the participation of human in active transport mode are decreasing especially residents living in urban cities as they have more access to motorized vehicles. Therefore, active transport modes such as walking and cycling are often promoted as they are able to contribute positive health effect.
