Abstract

Distribute Control System (DCS) behaves as a control system in a plant. Due to the
process built in 1990’s, majority of DCS that are available on site, consist only Start
and Stop button with the absence of current ammeter and data logging for the operating
motors. Excavation activities for cable laying in this plant become uneconomical due
to the brownfield area. Consequently, collecting data for the current operating motor
has been implemented manually without the existence of any technology. This study
examines the AC Motor characteristics during operation and develop a prototype
circuit of wireless transmission device between the current ammeter and the end-user.
