Abstract

This project entitled “The Effectiveness of Harden X on Surface Hardness of Lightweight
Concrete” is closely related to civil engineering industry especially from the aspect of civil
engineering material. To minimize the crack of the concrete due to the volumetric change,
temperature, restrained slab and excess or premature loading. Being cheap, efficient, safe, fast,
and non- intrusive, the product of Zacklim Sdn Bhd claimed their hardener product ‘Harden X’
could reduce crack by just sprinkle or added to the concrete slab and it is suitable for every slab
has been casted. However, the actual effect of the product might be different due to nature of
the concrete, the construction environment, and the workmanship. In this project, by adding the
Harden X hardener to the concrete, the outcome will be observe compared to the concrete
without adding the Harden X hardener. The focus of this project is observed the different from
the aspect of rebounding hammer testand compressive strength test.
