Abstract

In the midst of coronavirus disease, people are instructed to abide by the safety
measure written in a standard operating procedure (SOP). One of the SOP is to wash
hands frequently by using soap and water or hand sanitiser. The hand sanitiser is
usually placed at a certain area for stationary application which can be hard to locate
in a crowd of people and consume space and time for people during queuing. The
project is designed to increase the effectiveness of SOP. The hand sanitiser dispenser
is implemented onto a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to offer automatic
hand sanitiser dispensing and body temperature scanning which is controlled with a
Raspberry Pi board and equipped with a few sensor modules. The drone will fly
autonomously towards the user when it recognizes a hand gesture that is raising both
hands. An Ultrasonic sensor is used to measure the distance between the quadrotor and
the user.
