Abstract

Temenggor Lake is an eco-tourism destination in Malaysia that supplies water to populations in Perak and Penang. A houseboat has been used to transport tourists to Banding Island from the jetty complex for them to enjoy the natural beauty. After completing the Banding Island trip, the houseboat will continue the journey back to the jetty complex and park their houseboat at the jetty complex to unload the wastewater discharged into the Small Sewage Treatment System (SSTS). Therefore, the amount of wastewater discharged from the forty houseboats into the SSTS caused spikes in ammonia, nitrate, and phosphorus.
