Abstract

These days, transportation is seen as a basic need since so much labour can only be performed with the presence and assistance of some kind of transportation. The development of new roadways is crucial to the whole community of a city because of the widening usage of highways nowadays. Investing in new roadway pavement may be very beneficial for a nation, but the price in terms of environmental and energy sustainability is just too high. Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) has been used as a cheaper alternative to fresh asphalt pavement in civil engineering projects. RAP's performance degrades with time owing to the fact that it is made from recycled, hardened asphalt pavement.
