Abstract

Drilling through the subsurface is a complicated process that almost always results in issues. As a result, reaching the target successfully necessitates anticipating and understanding drilling issues, their causes, and planning solutions. Borehole instability, mud contamination, formation damage, and hole cleaning are among the most common drilling issues. Other common issues include pipe sticking, lost circulation, hole deviation, and pipe failures.
