Abstract

Oil spills pose significant environmental threats, which requires efficient mitigation strategies to minimize their adverse impacts. By encouraging the fragmentation of extensive oil slicks into smaller droplets that can more easily be broken down or dispersed in the water column, dispersants have become one of the most significant tools in battling against oil catastrophes.
