Abstract

Water pollution refers to the contamination of water bodies such as lakes, rivers, oceans, and groundwater, resulting in adverse effects on the environment, human health, and aquatic life. It occurs when pollutants are discharged or introduced into water sources, exceeding the natural capacity of self-purification, and causing imbalances in the ecosystem.
