Abstract

To reduce production costs of hydrogel, a new low-cost and eco-friendly semi-interpenetrating polymer network (semi-IPN) hydrogel of cellulose/polymethacrylic acid blends was prepared. The hydrogel was produced by aqueous solution polymerization method in the presence of initiators ammonium persulfate (APS) and anhydrous sodium sulfite and N,N-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as crosslinker.
