Abstract

The project also includes identifying possible ways to minimize the amount of sand before entering the choke valve. Cause and effect analysis is used to analyze the root cause of sand erosion. Four main causes of sand erosion have been determined from this project which includes excessive gas velocities, poor erosion resistant material, high sand production rate entering choke valve and improper valve seating.
