Vehicle engine usually runs on fuel. There are a lot of research been done to find the most suitable source to replace fuel. Fuel is one of petroleum product and there are lot effects towards environment if humans keep using fuels as the only available source in world. However, there are latest alternative to use biohydrogen to replace fuel. The replacement is promising towards a better environment and better future to later generation. Biohydrogen will be produced from abundant of biomass available in Malaysia. There are several ways in producing biohydrogen from biomass such as gasification or pyrolysis. This project will focus on pyrolysis. There is also several parameters need to taken into account to be select as the most optimum route. After several study, the route will be divided based on the type of reactor. The present work will focuses on the mathematical modeling of economic analysis and cost minimization of the flowsheet design for hydrogen production from biomass using MATLAB. The optimization will focused on the most optimized route in producing hydrogen with minimal cost.
