Abstract

The research project under-study gives an indication of how the waves impact the platform deck of offshore structures. This will probably in turn enable the Jack-up platform structure designers to be able to design platform decks taht are resistant to Central North Sea or similar conditions during wave-in-deck.Though this is a rare condition to happen,wave impact on the deck is by far one of the greatest impacts that the structure can face on its lifetime.It is important to understand the impact of environmental loads on an oll'shore plat firm
Particularly, it study on it prototype model called the MMSI. Model of it lack-up structure in the
Central North have been conducted to understand these impacts This model was developed
for the Health and Safety Executive,United Kingdom(UK).The model was scaled down for lab
usage.
The purpose of the present study was to determine particularly the impact of waves on the deck
of a fixed bottom supported pick-up platform.
