Abstract

Lawn mower and brush cutter are two different gardening tools but the purposes of both are the same which is to cut grass. The main difference is that brush cutters can cut grass on uneven terrain while lawn mowers can only cut grass on flat surface. For those who owned a brush cutter will surely be thinking of also buying a lawn mower because lawn mowers can cut faster and require less effort. Therefore, it would be desirable to create a conversion kit for the brush cutter so that the brush cutter can also double up as a lawn mower. Every aspect of the brush cutter and lawn mower were studied so full understanding of both machine will be achieved before proceeding with the conversion kit design. From the background studies, a conceptual design was created using proper design methodology to create the conversion kit. Safety features were also been implemented into the design. After the conceptual design was completed, fabrication on the prototype was made and the conversion kit was then tested. In the end, a prototype model of a conversion kit of a brush cutter to lawn mower has been completed.
