Corrosion under insulation (CUI) is a severe form of localized corrosion that has been plaguing chemical process industries. It occurs without giving any sign and undetected beneath the insulation until failure occurs. The most common inspection planning to address CUI problem is based on API 581. However, the current API 581 methodology relies on subjective inputs which lead to inaccurate determination of probability of failure (POF). Therefore, the aim of this research is to develop more quantitative method to determine POF by using logistic regression model.
