Abstract
The increasing complexity of microwave filter designs demands higher performance tools to cope with. In this paper, the capability of software to design advanced Chebyshev type filter is discussed. Emphasis is placed on the synthesis part that is done. The challenge posted and discussed here is the ability of marketed software to synthesize a ladder prototype network containing transmission zeroes and its usability in handling complex and modern microwave filters designs. This paper also discussed the in depth method to perform pole-zero extraction for the resonant elements that has impedance function and S11 functions derived from combination of finite and infinite placed zeroes.
