Abstract
Crumb rubber is the material that produced from waste tire which consider as environmental hazard due to that this produced material added to concrete to improve concrete properties as well as reducing the environmental risk of the waste tires so that, the concrete with crumb rubber becomes lower density, better toughness, sound absorption, skid resistivity and higher ductility. However, the increasing of crumb rubber content in the conventional concrete mixture reduces the compressive strength and flexural strength because of its physical properties. This study conducted to assess the applicability of Nano silica to improve concrete containing crumb rubber (rubbercrete) properties and its structural performance especially increase the compressive strength and flexural strength because Nano silica can increase the adhesion between cement and aggregates due to its particles size which is 100 times smaller than cement particle size. Basically the properties of rubbercrete with Nano silica solid brick has been determined and the result show that addition Nano silica to rubbercrete can improve the compressive strength and flexural strength with increasing of Nano silica percentage in rubbercrete content and lower water absorption and better structural resistance for the axial loads.
