Abstract
A SAXOPHONE MUTE IS A DEVICE FITTED TO SAXOPHONE TO ALTER THE SOUND PRODUCED BY AFFECTING THE TIMBRE, REDUCING THE VOLUME (NOISE), OR MOST COMMONLY BOTH. THE STUDY WILL FOCUSES ON THE DESIGN, PROTOTYPE AND TESTING A NEW MUTE INSTRUMENT WHICH HAS NEW SPECIFICATION IN ORDER TO REDUCE 50% PERCENTAGE OF SAXOPHONE NOISE. THE KEY OF THE PROJECT IS THE WORKING SYSTEM AND THE MATERIAL SELECTION. AT THE END, THE MUTE INSTRUMENT WILL UNDERGOES CERTAIN TESTS TO MEASURE THE REDUCTION OF NOISE.
