Abstract

Process tomography is a process of measuring the signals by using specific types of sensor, which are arranged around an object as to examine its internal condition. A number of principles can be applied in process tomography including optical tomography, resistive tomography, and acoustic tomography. This report describes the design of hardware system for electrical capacitance tomography. The electrical capacitance tomography is defined by measuring the electrical properties of dielectric components in a specific object via capacitive sensors. In this project, the hardware system is designed based on two major parts; sensor system and data acquisition system. A number of experiments have been conducted in order to obtain the best design of the sensor system and data acquisition circuits. Further improvements are suggested for future works. IV
